Stockholm, 29 October 2026
RevvoMed Innovations AB has launched operations in Stockholm following the completion of a SEK 7 million pre-seed funding round. The company maps membrane proteins in diseased and healthy tissue to identify drug targets that current methods overlook. The round was supported by serial entrepreneurs Johan Staël von Holstein and Erik Wikström.
RevvoMed is a newly established drug discovery company. Its initial focus is on cancer, where many of today’s best-selling medicines offer limited therapeutic benefit and cause serious side effects. RevvoMed’s vision is to enable a new generation of precision medicines that selectively target diseased cells, thereby improving treatment outcomes and patients’ quality of life.
Membrane proteins are found on the surface of cells and are the targets of a substantial proportion of today’s medicines. RevvoMed’s platform maps differences in these proteins between diseased and healthy tissue. These differences will reveal new, more precise targets for medicines.
“We have built a focused team with a clear mission: to identify biological opportunities that conventional drug development has been unable to uncover. With our laboratory, funding and expertise now in place, we are already seeing results that exceed our expectations after only a short period of operations. Within twelve months, I envisage having several patents in the pipeline.”
From discovery to patents and partnerships
RevvoMed aims to bridge the gap between early biological discoveries and the pharmaceutical industry’s development capabilities. The company identifies and validates drug targets and develops patent-protected therapeutic assets. Each validated discovery can form the basis of a separate patent and a collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry. Its business model combines the development of a broad portfolio of patent-protected assets with opportunities for early revenue through licensing, asset sales and partnerships.
The idea behind RevvoMed grew out of Robin Löving’s extensive work on membrane proteins. He holds a PhD from Karolinska Institute and spent more than ten years as CSO at Salipro Biotech AB, where he led membrane protein projects in collaboration with pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide.
The company is led by Nina Schiller, whose background spans research, medtech and entrepreneurship. Christian Schiller, co-founder and Executive Chairman, brings experience in financial management, leadership and business development from roles in Sweden and internationally. Together with the other founders, he is responsible for the company’s commercial and financial development.
Scientific support from one of the world’s leading protein researchers
Professor Gunnar von Heijne serves as a scientific advisor to RevvoMed. He is an internationally recognised membrane protein researcher and one of Sweden’s most cited researchers in biochemistry and molecular biology.
“RevvoMed’s innovative approach to identify membrane protein drug targets marks a new departure in high-precision drug discovery. They have a solid team with a smart strategy in place, and I look forward to serving as a scientific advisor.”
Funding
The company’s pre-seed round was led by Johan Staël von Holstein and Erik Wikström, two experienced entrepreneurs and investors with extensive backgrounds in building and financing growth companies. Both are also shareholders in RevvoMed.
“I meet many early-stage companies. It is rare to find a team with both such deep scientific expertise and such a clear business model. That is why we chose both to support the fundraising and to invest ourselves.”
